ReplyDeleteI strongly recommend SoftMaker FreeOffice instead. That's a free office suite with an excellent compatibility with Microsoft Office, in both directions. That's worth a lot, because because doc(x) - Word, xls(x) - Excel, and ppt(x) - PowerPoint are worldwide defacto standard. A good alternative office suite should be able to handle these formats faithfully - OpenOffice isn't, SoftMaker FreeOffice is.
Over and above that, it's a pretty well coded, fast and reliable piece of software. Everyone who's interested to try it out can download it in either a Windows, or a Linux version from this website:
